Documents linked from this page represent research and evaluation studies related to the TEEMS program in science education. TEEMS is a program that emerged from a series of teacher education programs as GSU. The Pedagogical History of these programs began in 1970. A content analysis of TEEMS and its predecessors outlines the attributes of each program. What is the nature of the TEEMS program? What characterizes the design of TEEMS? What impact does the TEEMS curriculum have on the professional practice of TEEMS students? These are some of the questions we are exploring.

This research was designed to describe a constructivist science teacher education program and investigate how students in the program experienced a constructivist learning environment. The link above points you to a paper presented at the 6th Nordic Conference on Science Education Research in Joensuu, Finland, June 1999,and the link below takes to an abstract of a paper to be presented at the National Association for Research in Science Teaching Conference in New Orleans in May, 2000.

Assessment data was based on a summary of the responses to a questionnaire administered to the TEEMS science students in April 1999 after they had completed the Summer Institute, as well as the end of the middle and high school internships.
